Dogs and business tails tails
Dogs are good source of business, at least that's my tail tale of late. McKinley is a two year old White Golden Retriever and he's been a nearly constant companion to me since the day we brought him home. Not long ago, he accompanied me to a neighborhood where I needed to check-up on a number of listings. I kept an eye on him as I popped in an out of houses to pick up cards and refill flyer boxes.
Dogs are like magnets. Meanwhile, he sat in the passenger seat of my small convertable drawing a crowd and loving the attention. That afternoon, I met two prospective buyers. Both had intended to quickly drive through the neighborhood, however, when they spotted McKinley, they stopped to give him a pat. Naturally, we struck up a conversation. I also met a fellow Realtor who just had to meet McKinley. As a fellow dog lover, we had an instant connection - she ended up selling two of my listings in that neighborhood.
Dogs are icebreakers. The aforementioned scenario happens more often than not. McKinley really does open doors for me - and thanks to him, I rarely have an awkward moment introducing myself. He's my cold calling expert!
Mac and Me videos. I'm now working on a series of videos featuring great neighborhoods, parks and other ammenities in Clark County, Washington. McKinley will be featured in all of the shoots. Naturally I'll do a series on neighborhood parks and "dog parks."
Obviously, I keep my "Buyer" car free of dog odor and hair! (Just in case you were wondering.) And that's just one of my many business tails tales, thanks to Mac.
